Forever Forgiven

Think about it; if I was all knowing and desired to be your friend, and can tell all the different ways in which you are going to hurt me weeks, months, years in advance; what you will do to hurt our friendship, when, where, with whom and how many times; wouldn’t it only make sense that for me to really love you, I need to forgive those things well before they happen? In our human relationships, we only forgive after the incident because we don’t see it coming. But for God, who knows all the different times in the future that you are going to hurt Him, it’d be useless for Him to wait for it to happen before He can forgive. In order to relate, He has to do it in advance because for Him it has already happened before it happens. He knows! Thus He writes In Colossians 2:13 “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses”

Pre-emptive reconciliation is the only way God would maintain His side of this relationship. So, don’t freak out. He knows your mistakes in advance and yet He loves you deeply still. #MoThoughts

  1. So I’m wondering. Is it okay for me to do something bad because, well, God already knows I am going to do it. Did God already know that the Israelites were going to disobey him in the Wilderness. If so, why did David say that they (the israelites) limited God (I’m assuming by their disobedience). Like, did God already know that they’d spend 40 years in the wilderness. I hope I’m not coming off as counteractive. I’m just trying to get a better understanding.
